Straight Off The Hook - It's Me
 -

  • I am a Christian woman who's pretty easy going, loves life and giving to others.
  • I am a happily married woman who's been with my husband for going on 21 years, 18 years of which have been married, and we are very much still in love with one another.
  • I have four beautiful children...two sets as I usually tell people as two are in college and the second set has one in middle school and one in high school this year. Yes, I guess we started over! LOL! I also have a beautiful five year old grandson.
  • I first learned to crochet when I was 12 years old by my mother and around the same age when my grandmother taught me how to knit. I left the crafts behind but picked them back up years later. I started crocheting again in 2000 and then relearned knitting through self study in 2004.
  • I love to travel and have only been out of the country a handful of times going to Montreal and Toronto as well as Mexico. I love cruises and have been on two; one in 1994 which was a combined trip to celebrate both my honeymoon and 1st year anniversary and one in 2008 to celebrate my anniversary. I'm looking at taking another to celebrate my 20th wedding anniversary in a couple of years. I have also been to Louisville, KY; Mobile, AL; San Diego, CA; New York, NY (although I was rasied there from age 3 to the age of 18); Cincinatti, Ohio; Niles, Michigan, Livingston, AL; Altanta, GA, and Meridian, MS, and Hawaii.

The Perfect Girl
By: Breanna Johnson, written 0512/11; she was 14 years old

I walk in the hallways and examine the girls
Most have on make-up and are popular
They also have revealing clothes
In most eyes,
These are the perfect girls.

I get home and press the big red button
The screen slowly lights up
Flashes of color seep into my eyes
A tall pale skinny girl winks at me
Her face is clear and her hair is long
She has pretty eyes and straight white teeth
In most eyes,
This is the perfect girl
I switch the channel
A music video is on
There stands a light skin girl
She's bent over shaking her big butt
While her breasts are almost popping out
Guys are all over her
Feeling on her
Whispering in her ear
She shakes her hips
Licks her lips
And dangles her long dark hair
She's obviously a sex symbol
In most eyes,
This is the perfect girl
I press the red button again
Walk into the bathroom
Staring long and hard into the mirror
I see a girl with a crooked smile
Off white teeth
Eyes as big as pool balls
Hair that barely brushes her shoulders
Chest that is hardly noticeable from the side
Booty that's flat as a pancake
And hips as straight as pencils
To me,
This is the perfect girl!

Family
By: Breanna Johnson
for the 2011 Brown & Seals Family Reunion

Family is beautiful
Family is kind
Family is always there to help soothe your mind
Family stands together as ONE
Families like ours like to have fun
...Brown & Seals
That's our name
Something we carry without feeling shame
We aren't perfect and we don't try to be
The way we are now seems just fine to me
We're beautiful & handsome in our own way
We know how to get down & joke & play
There will always be hard times to go through
As long as there's love, we'll make it
Brown & Seals Family
I LOVE YOU!

The Way of Faith
God is ever seeking to teach us the way of faith, and in our training in the faith life there must be room for the trial of faith, the discipline of faith, the patience of faith, the courage of faith, and often many stages are passed before we really realize what is the end of faith, namely, the victory of faith. Real moral fiber is developed through discipline of faith. You have made your request of God, but the answer does not come. What are to you to do? Keep on believe God's Word; never be moved away from it by what you see or feel, and thus as you stand steady, enlarged power and experience is being developed. Often God delays purposely, and the delay is just as much an answer to your prayer as the fulfillment when it comes. Abraham, Moses and Elijah were not great in the beginning, but were made great through the discipline of their faith, and only thus were they fitted for the position to which God had called them. When God has spoken of his purpose to do, and yet the days go on and he does not do, that is truly hard; but it is the discipline of faith that will bring us to a knowledge of God which would otherwise be impossible. - Mrs. Charles E. Cowman from More of God's Words of Life for Women
